Caroline Poggi was born in Ajaccio in 1990. She obtained a master’s degree in cinema at the University of Paris 8, then a university diploma at the University of Corsica in the CREATACC program where she directed her first short film Chiens. She then directed several films alongside Jonathan Vinel. In 2014, their short film Tant qu’il nous reste des fusils à pompe (As long as we have shotguns left) received the Golden Bear at the Berlinale. They then directed Our Heritage, also selected at the Berlinale. In 2018, their short film After School Knife Fight, selected at the Cannes Critics’ Week, was released in theaters as part of the sketch film Ultra Rêve. In the wake of this, their first feature film Jessica Forever was selected at TIFF in the Platform competition in Toronto as well as in the Panorama official selection at the Berlinale.
